Important Information Regarding Your BCG Vaccination Appointment: • A BCG Tuberculosis (TB) consultation will be undertaken to ensure it is safe to proceed with BCG vaccination. • Please aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to allow for check-in and preparation. • The person receiving BCG immunisation will need to remain nearby for 15 minutes after administration. • Most BCG vaccine appointments in Sydney take less than 30 minutes from start to finish. Location, Parking and Transport: • Our Sydney BCG clinic is conveniently located near Harris Park train station, with local bus stops also nearby. • Free street parking is available for a limited time. BCG Vaccine Cost – Sydney Clinic: • The fee for BCG vaccination in Sydney is $180, payable on the day of your appointment. • Cancellation and rescheduling are free of charge. Other Vaccinations and Timing: • Other live injectable vaccines (such as MMR) should be given on the same day or separated by at least 4 weeks. • If you have recently received a live injectable vaccine, please contact our clinic to discuss your eligibility for BCG vaccination in Sydney. Documentation and Records: • Bring your child’s vaccination record (Blue Book) and Medicare card if available. • The TB vaccination will be recorded in the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). • Please allow up to 24 business hours for records to appear. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, we may not be able to proceed with your appointment during that session, and you may need to reschedule, subject to availability. If accommodating a late arrival results in significant additional staffing costs or disruption to the clinic session, a late-arrival fee of a minimum of $50 may apply, depending on the length of the delay and the circumstances.. Any applicable fee will be explained before it is charged. • Clinic cancellations: In exceptional or unforeseen circumstances, such as vaccine shortages, staff unavailability or facility problems, we may need to cancel or reschedule a clinic session. We will notify affected patients as soon as reasonably practicable. We will offer either a new appointment or a refund of payments made for the affected appointment. When to Contact Us About Rescheduling: Please contact the clinic before attending if either of the following applies to the person receiving the BCG vaccine: • Significant illness or fever: The person is significantly unwell or has a fever of 38.5°C or higher. Mild illness without a fever generally does not require vaccination to be delayed, but the clinical team will assess eligibility. • Recent live injectable vaccination: The person has received another live injectable vaccine within the past 4 weeks (28 days). Live injectable vaccines can generally be given on the same day or at least 4 weeks apart. Please contact us to confirm the correct timing before attending.
